Public nominations for the maiden edition close on 29th November 2026. Here is how to put forward the people and businesses making the Volta Region proud.
The Volta Region has a new stage for its brightest people. LegacyHouse Events Group has opened public nominations for the Volta Legacy Awards 2026, the maiden edition of a new awards scheme. Its aim is to celebrate excellence and honour impact across the region.
Moreover, the awards recognise individuals, businesses, institutions, and community builders shaping the Volta Region’s present and future. Additionally, this includes entrepreneurs in Ho, creatives in Hohoe, educators in Kpando, and community champions in Keta and beyond.
Additionally, “Every town in this region has people whose work deserves to be seen,” the organisers said. Therefore, The Volta Legacy Awards exists to find them, celebrate them, and inspire next generation to build on that legacy.
Nominations are open to the public until 29th November 2026. The review panel will then screen and shortlist the nominees, and the public will vote on them. Moreover, the process ends with a grand award night planned for April 2027.
THE CATEGORIES
There are 43 categories across eight areas:
• Flagship: Volta Person of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Lifetime Impact Award, Volta Diaspora Icon of the Year, Face of Volta
• Business and Enterprise: Outstanding Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, SME Impact Award, Woman in Business, Startup of the Year
• Hospitality, Heritage and Agriculture: Hospitality and Tourism Personality of the Year, Heritage and Cultural Personality of the Year, Agriculture and Agribusiness Personality of the Year
• Education and Innovation: Educator of the Year, Education Innovation Award, STEM Champion of the Year, Innovation & Technology
• Youth: Most Promising Youth of the Year, Youth Activist of the Year, Youth in Service, Emerging Talent of the Year
• Community and Health: Community Champion of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, Health Personality of the Year, Non-Profit / NGO of the Year, Advocate of the Year, Environmental Activist of the Year, Voice of Change Award
• Arts and Entertainment: Musician of the Year, DJ of the Year, Creative Icon of the Year, Fashion Designer of the Year, Style Icon of the Year, Visual Artist of the Year, Graphic Designer of the Year, Poet/Writer of the Year, Comeback Personality of the Year
• Media: Film & Media Personality Award, Radio Personality of the Year, Most Popular MC/Host of the Year, Blogger of the Year, Content Creator of the Year, Social Media Personality of the Year

Nominating takes about two minutes, on your phone or computer:

- Tick the category or categories that fit your nominee.
- Enter the nominee’s full name, and say in a few words why they deserve the award.
- Add a link the panel can check, such as their Facebook or Instagram page, a news article or a website. You can also upload a photo.
- Add the nominee’s contact details if you have them, so the organisers can reach them.
- Enter your own name and email, then submit. You’ll get an email confirming your nomination was received.
All nominations are reviewed by the panel. Shortlisted nominees will then go to a public vote.
