Nigerian dancer Benjamin Daniel, known as Bendancer, has completed an incredible seven-day dance marathon in Lagos as he aims to make history with a new Guinness World Record.
The award-winning dancer began the demanding 168-hour dance challenge at Freedom Park in Lagos on September 21 and completed the marathon on Tuesday.
Bendancer said the challenge was more than just breaking a record. He undertook it to inspire positive change and help promote the growth and development of Nigeria’s dance industry.
The official verification process will review his record attempt. Guinness World Records will confirm any new record before it is announced.
Indian dancer Srushti Sudhir Jagtap holds the current solo dance marathon record. She completed 127 hours in 2023.
With his seven-day performance, Bendancer is hoping to surpass that mark and earn a place in the Guinness World Records.
Beyond the challenge, Bendancer is an award-winning dancer. He is a choreographer and the founder of Bendancer Academy International, where he develops dance talent.
