The ceremony marked the successful completion of the training, which was aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills and instructional capabilities of participants in the conduct of civilian VBSS training.
The Guest of Honour and Commanding Officer of SMOPS, Naval Captain Michael Cudjoe, commended the participants for their commitment and dedication throughout the course. He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills from the training in their areas of responsibility. They must uphold the professional standards expected of maritime security training personnel.
He further encouraged the participants to continue developing their professional competence. He called on the participants to share the knowledge they had gained with others. Stressing that effective training strengthens preparedness and promotes safe and professional conduct during maritime operations, he highlighted these benefits.
The training gave participants a chance to deepen their understanding of Visit, Board, Search and Seizure principles and procedures. It also built their ability to share the knowledge and skills with other personnel.
Additionally, Civilian VBSS T-O-T Course’s successful completion underscores NAVTRAC’s commitment to training and developing competent personnel for maritime security operations.
