Be responsible when reporting on the personal lives of public figures – Kwame Dzokoto caution some Bloggers

Veteran Ghanaian actor, politician and media personality Kwame Dzokoto has spoken out following online speculation surrounding his health, urging bloggers and social media users to be more responsible when reporting on the personal lives of public figures.

Speaking during a conversation with Kumchacha, Dzokoto expressed concern about how unverified reports can affect not only the person being discussed but also their family members.

According to the actor, while he may have the emotional strength to withstand some of the comments and reports circulating online, his family may not necessarily have the same ability to cope with such information.

“I might have the strength to withstand all the things online users and bloggers are saying, but know that I have a family; they may not be able to stand it,” he said.

Dzokoto also appealed to young bloggers to exercise caution and professionalism when dealing with sensitive issues, particularly those involving people’s health.

He advised bloggers to avoid publishing stories based on information from only one side of a situation. Instead, he encouraged them to contact the person involved or seek information from other credible sources before publishing.

“So, especially to the young bloggers, when you hear one side of the story, try to hear the other side. Then it becomes balanced,” he added.
